UbicMedia™ raised 320 kEuros in first-round financing

UbicMedia has raised 320 kEuros in first-round financing, valuating the company more than 1 million Euros. This seed capital, mainly brought by the SolarInvest fund, will allow UbicMedia to accelerate its development and to enrich its offer of value-added services intended for the producers, editors and providers or multimedia content : PUMit©, designed and operated by UbicMedia, is an original Internet solution which combines the advantages of downloading and VoD, P2P and streaming to widespread, promote, sell and exchange multimedia contents.

Founded in 2006 after a few years of conceptualization with market players around the idea of "free circulating contents" with "strictly & fairly controlled" use, and after having filed two patents, UbicMedia has launched by the end of 2006 the Alpha version of its PUMit system.

Alain Rosset, founder and Chairman of UbicMedia, declares: "We are happy that SolarInvest decided to help us in the development of UbicMedia. This funding, completed by the support of OSEO-ANVAR and our banks, enables us to cover the first steps of our development, until 2008. Beyond this financial contribution, UbicMedia will also take advantage of the presence to its Board of directors of Alain Dumas, founder and CEO of Sunopsis until its recent acquisition by Oracle."
